Gemma is passionate about psychology and has a genuine love for helping people. She has a broad range of experience, great expertise and thrives on working with people in all their variety and complexity. No difficulty is too small or large, recent or chronic, usual or unusual!

Get to know Gemma
Gemma finds her balance through the gym, time with friends and long walks with Angel the therapy dog. She finds great joy in her morning cup of coffee at her local cafe and also from time sitting in the sunshine doing nothing with Angel and her two tabby cats. She loves to learn and is always listening to new audiobooks and podcasts. She has gone to so many workshops in psychology she calls herself a ‘workshop-a-holic.’
Gemma's qualifications include a Master's degree in Clinical Psychology (UNSW) and a Bachelor degree in Psychology (Macquarie). In addition, Gemma has gained advanced training in Clinical Hypnosis and specialty training in a range of different therapies including Schema Therapy, Sex Therapy, Couples Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Interpersonal Therapy. Her most recent focus has been on Neuropsychotherapy and using what we know about how the brain works to inform her psychological therapy with couples and individuals. She is also learning more and more about canine assisted therapy since Angel became part of the Equilibrium team.
Gemma has a particular interest in sex therapy and has trained in western models as well as tantric approaches. She also has expertise in treating depression and anxiety in single people. She has written books in both these areas ‘Great Sexpectations’ and ‘Doing Single Well’.
Gemma is fully registered as a Clinical Psychologist with AHPRA (Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency) and is a member of the Australian Psychological Society and College of Clinical Psychologists.

Availability
Gemma is available from Monday to Thursday including After Hours and Online Sessions.
