Cheryl is an empathic, attuned psychologist dedicated to establishing an open, collaborative therapeutic relationship to support individuals to enact meaningful change. Cheryl adopts a person-centred practice, tailoring her approach and drawing upon various evidence-based modalities to meet the unique needs, goals and preferences of clients. She completed her Master of Clinical Psychology at the University of Sydney and has experience in working with a variety of presentations including anxiety, depression, emotion dysregulation, low self-esteem and procrastination.

Get to know Cheryl
Cheryl completed a Bachelor of Psychology (Honours) at the University of New South Wales and went on to obtain a Master of Clinical Psychology from the University of Sydney.
Cheryl has accrued experience across university, clinical research, and public health settings, supporting children and adults in addressing a range of mental health presentations including depression, anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorder, self-esteem difficulties and emotion dysregulation. Cheryl has trained in and uses a number of evidenced-based modalities including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT).
Outside of her therapeutic work, Cheryl enjoys reading, tennis, and being with friends and family.
Cheryl is registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and is currently completing her clinical psychology registrar program. She is also a member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS).
What is a Registrar?
A Registrar is a Psychologist who has completed 6 years of university training and 2 years practical experience. Subsequent to this each Registrar has to have a supervisor for 2 years in order to become a fully registered Clinical Psychologist. Cheryl is taking these 2 years at Equilibrium.
Availability
Cheryl is available Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays including After Hours and Online Sessions.
