Steph is a warm, down-to-earth, and culturally sensitive psychologist. She is passionate about working collaboratively with people from all walks of life to gain a richer understanding of themselves. Steph has worked across public hospital, private practice and university clinic settings with individuals and families experiencing a range of mood and anxiety disorders, emotional dysregulation, attentional deficits, and complex trauma. She particularly understands the importance of living a fulfilled life in a world with seemingly endless stressors and demands and acknowledges the courage it takes to seek help. Steph deeply appreciates the diversity of humanity and approaches her clients’ concerns with curiosity and compassion.

Get to know Steph
Prior to retraining in psychology, Steph had an early career in corporate tax advisory and yoga teaching which spurred her curiosity to understand people in greater depth and has enriched her ability to understand her clients’ stories. She is passionate about holistic wellness and believes in a multidisciplinary, evidence-based approach to mental health care that marries Western psychology with Eastern traditions of healing, such as meditation and yoga. Steph utilises a variety of tailored evidence-based modalities including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Narrative Therapy and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT).
Outside of work, you can find Steph cuddling with her dog Benji, practicing yoga, painting or trying out other arts and crafts, being in nature, or trying new restaurants. Steph is a firm advocate for balance in all aspects of life, so she doesn’t shy away from the occasional indulgence (be it tiramisu or the latest true crime documentary).
Steph has completed a Graduate Diploma in Psychology (University of Sydney), a Bachelor of Advanced Studies (Psychology) with First Class Honours (University of Sydney) and a Master of Clinical Psychology (Western Sydney University). She is registered as a psychologist with AHPRA (Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency) and is currently completing her clinical psychology registrar program. She is also a member of the Australian Psychological Society.
What is a Registrar?
A Registrar is a Psychologist who has completed 6 years of university training and 2 years practical experience. Subsequent to this each Registrar has to have a supervisor for 2 years in order to become a fully registered Clinical Psychologist. Steph is taking these 2 years at Equilibrium.
Availability
Steph is available Wednesdays and Fridays including Early Mornings, After Hours, and Online Sessions.
